Less than a month after Clemson dethroned Alabama in the College Football Playoff, college football took to the spotlight on February 1st with the latest crop of recruits for National Signing Day. High school prospects go to the extreme as they announce their school of choice. From hosting a small event at their school gym with a row of hats to making a Zombie Parody and even announcing from space (yes…this is true!), National Signing Day grabs the full attention of football fans and media everywhere.
At Daktronics’ event production sites, we see the magnitude of this day and use our displays and production knowledge to showcase the newest recruits on campus. Here are some photos of what went down on campus.
- With each signee’s letter of intent, individual graphics were displayed inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
- James Madison University used social media and in-house televisions to display newest signees as they signed their letter of intent. A reception was hosted with coaches and early signees inside Bridgeforth Stadium Club.

- The crew at Iowa State utilized their video boards to display newest signee’s as their national letter of intent came down the wire. Athletics hosted a reception for fans to mingle with coaches and early signees inside the SUKUP End Zone Club. The reception was streamed live online and broadcast on Iowa State’s cable network.
