Project Overview and Scope
In the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Boulder, Colorado, Daktronics designed and installed six new state-of-the-art displays totaling 8,800 square feet, enhancing the fan experience both inside and outside of the stadium at Folsom Field. Three large 13HD pixel layout ribbon displays complete the new installation. Daktronics' Show Control system provides display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that creates the ultimate production solution.
The new state-of-the-art video display boards on the south end of Folsom Field promises to greatly enhance fan experience both inside and outside the stadium for not only football games but all stadium events.

Folsom Field: Home of the Buffs
The central piece of Daktronics' system of six LED displays at Folsom Field is a massive, curved display capable of variable content zoning, delivering all the exciting game-day videos, graphics and information that fans expect from a live football game. This includes the ability to show one large image or multiple zones of content including live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, game information, graphics, animations and sponsorship messages.
Outward facings displays on the back of main video boards bring great potential to communicate with fans outside the stadium that are enjoying game day but also don't want to miss any of the action once the game kicks off. These displays open up branding and sponsorship opportunities while also letting fans know when the game is about to begin.
Key Features & Technology
Main Video Board
The centerpiece of the new system is a massive, curved 10mm video board in the south end zone, measuring nearly 40 feet tall by 117 feet wide.
External Displays
Two outward-facing 10mm displays on the back of the main video board, measuring 15.5 feet tall by 30 feet wide.
Ribbon Displays
Three 13HD ribbon boards mounted to the seating fascia provide supplemental information and highlights. The main east ribbon board measures roughly 2.5 feet high by 431 feet long.
Control System
The new system is powered by Daktronics' Show Control system, which includes Camino and All Sport Pro. As one of the first college football programs using Camino, CU Boulder is on the cutting-edge of statistical layouts for in-game experiences. Camino is the driving force behind the most advanced, attention-grabbing content witnessed on game day as a true way to bring statistics to life in a dynamic way. It seamlessly integrates into CU's Show Control system for effortless playback by their production team.
I think the name Daktronics and the backing of that company knowing that they're going to be here in five years when we need to get a new part or whatever it might be that's really important so that was that was a key component of why we chose Daktronics.
