Project Overview and Scope

The primary objective was to create an immersive, world-class venue with advanced technology. The centerpiece of this effort was the Halo, which is the largest 4K UHD LED display ever built. The Intuit Dome features a comprehensive network of advanced audiovisual solutions from Daktronics. The venue was designed to create an immersive, world-class experience, with displays seamlessly integrated from the exterior plazas to the central arena floor.

Hear From the Project Manager

For the screen itself, we went to South Dakota, where Daktronics sets the standard. Daktronics and its strong local employment force shipped every single piece of this board across the country on schedule.

The Halo: Centerpiece of the Venue

The central and most significant part of the project is the Halo, a unique, double-sided, 4K UHD LED display with a tight 3.9-millimeter pixel layout, comprised of more than 233 million LEDs. The Intuit Dome's roof was specifically designed to accommodate the Halo, optimizing sightlines from all seats and prioritizing the viewing experience from the upper bowl.

The inner halo display measures 32 feet high by 623 feet in circumference and the outer halo display measures 28 feet high by 661 feet in circumference.

Parking and Exterior Displays

Engaging Fans Before They Even Enter

Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by 30+ displays within the parking garages that provide wayfinding and information. The plaza features a large 40-foot by 70-foot video board overlooking the outdoor basketball court, while two double-sided marquee displays are located at the corner of Prairie and Century to attract and inform passersby.

Create Experiences for Fans Around Every Corner

Lobby, Flagship Store and Promotional Spaces

In the main lobby, a massive 22-foot by 190-foot curved display serves as a major attraction and a popular photo spot for fans. The Clippers' flagship store features six high-resolution COB (Chip On Board) displays to showcase merchandise. A promotional area, Court B, features a large 4K display and traditional scoreboards.

Team & Player Areas

Additional displays are strategically placed in team areas outside the bowl. These include displays at the player entrance, media interview room, practice court, locker room and team conference room, providing a consistent visual experience for team personnel.

The Journey Leading to the Halo

I wanted to make sure the thing was totally functional, that it really added to the game, that it was not just ... an art object if you will. It had to be something that would really enhance the game for us.
