Collaborative AV and Daktronics Partner to Upgrade Auditorium Experience at Marine Corps University Quantico

LED video wall replaces projector for crisp image quality

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Sept. 18, 2025 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, and Collaborative AV, an experienced audiovisual team with a customer-first approach, have partnered to deliver an LED video wall experience at Marine Corps University Quantico’s Breckinridge Hall, a place on the National Register of Historical Places in Virginia. Completed in 2025, the video wall replaces a projector to deliver crisp images in this large gathering space.

Breckinridge Hall is used for many university gatherings from general meetings to formal presentations and video conferencing. The display will enhance these uses with vivid imagery and graphics as well as detailed information that is easily legible when shown to those in the auditorium.

“We’ve been involved with Marine Corps University going on seven years and this project highlights what we’ve been able to do hand-in-hand with their team, and including some great technology from Daktronics,” said Richard Tedrow, Collaborative AV. “Paired with the complete audio integration, this space is prepared for the university’s needs from presentations to conferences and more as we assist with educating and supporting the modern warfighter.”

Video Wall Details

The video wall leverages Daktronics’ robust COB (Chip On Board) technology for added durability in a narrow pixel pitch solution. It measures roughly 11 feet high by 20 feet wide and features a 1.5-millimeter pixel spacing for high-resolution imagery.

“Working with Collaborative AV has helped us bring the latest technology into some of the highest profile locations, including this Marine Corps University project,” said Quinn Rice, Daktronics sales representative. “Collaborative AV’s commitment to success is shown in this project and in their dedication to understanding the product as they’ve completed our Factory Certification Training. Paired with their expertise in the federal and military sector, we’re thrilled to partner with them on projects like these.”

Collaborative AV and Daktronics are trusted installers and suppliers for the U.S. Department of Defense and other federal government agencies, having partnered on several key government dvLED audiovisual projects at military installations in the United States and throughout the world. These true TAA-compliant products undergo rigorous quality assurance, testing, connectivity assessments and supply chain management to meet the U.S. government’s high-security standards

The line of products Daktronics offers with this COB technology ranges from 2.5 millimeters down to 0.7 millimeters. It brings less heat to the display face and removes the wire bonds to increase reliability. It also decreases the power consumption for a lower cost of ownership over time. In addition, Daktronics’ pure black surface encapsulant provides greater contrast and component reliability which results in fewer service calls. Daktronics-engineered matte-black surface is constructed using a thin, transparent barrier infused with matte-black particles. These features allow for exceptional adhesion to multiple surfaces, including PCBs, electronics and LEDs. The product line is delamination-resistant, maintaining reliable protection over time and is rigorously tested to prevent cracking or bubbling, ensuring long-lasting durability. Backed by decades of design expertise, our superior surface coating ensures fortified protection of the LEDs while enhancing contrast and reducing surface glare.
