Inside Sales Expo: Training, Tours & Tech

The Sales Expo provided sign company partners with an inside look at our cutting-edge product offerings. Attendees toured our manufacturing facility and engaged directly with Lab Services, where our technicians and engineers conduct rigorous testing to uphold the quality, integrity, and reliability of our products.

Attendees engaged in hands-on training with Venus Control Suite, our cloud-based software designed to streamline digital display management. They also took part in a product showcase and hands-on learning stations to discover how to make the most of Daktronics products and services.

A key moment was a sales-focused session led by Daktronics Sales Manager Tom Coughlin, where attendees gathered in small groups to discuss business strategies, share experiences, and learn from one another.

The interactive format encouraged open dialogue and peer-to-peer learning, which attendees described as one of the most valuable aspects of the Expo. Feedback emphasized the importance of networking with other sign companies and the Daktronics team, highlighting the collaborative spirit that defines Sales Expo.

"The networking element is important. Not just with other sign companies but with the Daktronics team."

Designs that Inspire: Sign Design Contest Winners

One of the standout moments at this year’s Sales Expo was the annual Sign Design Contest, where sign company partners showcased their creativity and craftsmanship. Attendees voted on their favorite entries, and the winning signs stood out for their creative structures, implementation of digital technology, brand alignment and visual impact.

Galaxy 49 sq. ft. and Smaller Category Winner: Plastic Arts Sign Co. – Pensacola, FL

Plastic Arts Sign Co. impressed attendees with their sleek installation at Pen Air Credit Union. The design features a 6mm GT6X 300x240 LED display, chosen to match larger signs used across other branch locations, while staying compliant with local signage codes.

The sign’s bold purple and black color scheme, paired with clean typography and strategic logo placement, ensures strong brand visibility from multiple viewing angles.

As Al Jacobi, sign consultant at Plastic Arts, shared, “The overall design was developed to give the customer’s signs a more modern look and provide similar content to what they use on social media.”

This thoughtful approach to consistency and modernization earned Plastic Arts top honors in their category.

Galaxy 50 sq. ft. and Larger Category Winner: Pinnacle Sign Group – Springfield, MO

Pinnacle Sign Group took home the win in the larger category with their vibrant display for Great Southern Bank. The sign features a 10mm GT6X 468x216 LED display, delivering crisp visuals and reliable performance.

The design combines a sleek, modern structure with a pop of color from the sunburst element—making it eye-catching and memorable.

Ryan Cartledge, sign consultant at Pinnacle, shared, “We prefer the Daktronics brand for reliability and cross-networking.”

This installation not only highlights the power of great design but also the value of dependable technology and scalable solutions.
